The listing currently gives two different breakfast descriptions. One service section mentions grocery cost plus an IDR 110,000 cover charge per person, with a minimum of four guests. The FAQ mentions IDR 150,000 per person, with a minimum order for five guests. That mismatch may reflect different menus or an incomplete update; it should not be silently resolved by choosing the cheaper figure.
Send the host a simple written question:
“For six guests on [date], what breakfast menu is available, what is the complete price including groceries and service, and what time will it be served?”
Also state allergies, vegetarian or vegan needs, children’s portions and whether anyone needs breakfast before an early tour. A clear answer is more valuable than a generic promise that breakfast is “available.”
When a private chef is genuinely worth it
A chef dinner makes the most sense on a day when the group will already be at the villa: arrival night, a pool day, a celebration or the evening after a long excursion. It is less useful if half the group wants to explore Ubud restaurants.
Before confirming, ask for:
- the exact menu and portion count;
- the total price, including ingredients, staff, tax and service charges;
- what drinks are included;
- setup, cooking and cleanup times;
- the cancellation deadline;
- how allergies and cross-contamination are handled.
The listing describes lunch and dinner options starting at IDR 450,000 per person, but “starting at” is not a final budget. For six guests, compare the complete quote with a restaurant meal plus transport. The best choice is the one that fits the evening, not automatically the most luxurious option.
Massage without losing villa privacy
An in-villa massage avoids another journey through Ubud traffic, but the shared space needs planning. Decide whether treatments will happen one after another or with several therapists, and where they can take place without blocking bedrooms or the pool area.
Ask about treatment length, therapist gender if relevant, towels, oil, table or floor-mat setup, and whether the quoted duration includes setup. If children are in the group, decide who supervises them while adults are in treatment.
Villa Bahagia’s listing says outside vendors are prohibited and warns of an IDR 2,000,000 fine for using them. Book massage, chef, yoga, decorations and similar services through the villa team rather than inviting a provider independently.
What daily housekeeping does—and does not—mean
Daily housekeeping is listed as included, with service hours of 9:00–17:00 and linen changes every third day for sustainability. It does not mean staff will enter whenever convenient for the guest. Agree on a cleaning window, especially if the group has young children, remote calls or slow mornings.

Keep the reply in the booking platform whenever possible. Reconfirm the schedule a day before each service, particularly if arrival time depends on a flight.
A realistic service plan for a short Ubud stay
For a three-night stay, booking every extra usually adds coordination rather than comfort. A balanced plan could be:
- Arrival day: pre-arranged transfer and a simple dinner, either at the villa or nearby.
- Full Ubud day: breakfast at the villa only if it helps an early departure; massage after returning.
- Pool or celebration day: chef dinner when everyone intends to stay in.
- Departure day: standard breakfast or self-catering, with the driver time confirmed the previous evening.
